Facebook Rolls Out New Video Tools: Facebook is rolling out changes to live video broadcasting, Facebook’s Watch Party, and Creator Studio. These updates include enhancements to tools and new metrics to track video performance. They also include an expanded set of features, better ways to prep for and simulcast live broadcasts, and better ways to take advantage of Watch Party events.

During this segment, Luria shared an unofficially Facebook Live video update spotted in the wild in which Facebook creates two different links for scheduled Live videos. One link direct users to the post about the upcoming Live video and the other goes to the video itself once the video creator goes live.

Google Begins Highlighting Key Moments From Videos in Search
: Google announced an update on how it handles videos in search results. Instead of just listing relevant videos on the search results page, Google will now highlight the most relevant parts of longer videos, based on timestamps provided by the video creators. TechCrunch notes that this is especially useful for how-to videos or documentaries.

Creators interested in trying YouTube’s new Key Moments feature can apply online. YouTube states that the program is currently limited to a small set of providers in order “to ensure coverage and a good user experience.”

YouTube’s Testing a New Option to Display Users’ Comment History in Channels: YouTube is testing a new feature called Profile Cards, which will list all of a user’s recent comments on the channel. The new profile cards will appear when you click on a commenter’s name in the comments.
