Magnetic thread could one day be used to clear blood clots in the brain

Researchers at MIT developed a thread that can be steered magnetically to glide through the brain’s blood vessels and clear any stroke-related blockages. 

If this technology catches on, it could pave the way for remotely executed endovascular surgeries, which are currently performed manually and expose doctors to considerable amounts of radiation. Read more…
